Beach Italian RestaurantSeafood dishes are not unusual for Italian regions. Even if they may have different kinds of local cooking styles, because all of them are bounded by the Mediterranean Sea, they will always have a dish or two that is derived from the bounty of the sea. If you happen to visit Italy soon, you will find out that there are a lot of seaside restaurants that serve the local seafood dishes. This idea is carried to different countries so that even in America there are a lot of beach Italian restaurants.

One of the Italian regions that are very blessed with the abundance of the sea is the region of Puglia. The region of Puglia is located in the southern part of the Apennine Peninsula. The inhabitants of Puglia believe that food is not meant to be complicated that is why oysters, mussels, cuttlefish and octopus are cooked in very simple seafood dishes. Some of these are even eaten raw.

Another Italian region with delectable seafood dishes is the region of Liguria. Liguria is located in the northern part of the Italian Peninsula and is but a narrow strip of land that is caught in between the coast and the mountains. Even so, they catch the best fish and create the most sought after olive oil in the entire of Italy. A very elaborate local seafood dish is the capon magro which is a pyramid made of six or seven types of individually cooked fish and vegetables that are laid on layers on top of crackers and topped with olive oil and anchovies. To sample a kind of treat like this you do not have to travel to Italy, you only need to visit the nearest beach seafood restaurant nearest you.
